Practice Development updates
We have added new dates to MeLearning for the following Multi-Agency training courses:
- Child Protection Inter Agency (CPIA) Level 3 – Four new dates in July
- Child Neglect – Two new dates, one in June & one in July

**NEW Course** Child Exploitation (CSE, CCE and Missing) – One date for July 2021 – further dates to follow.
This new training course will help you to understand and act upon concerns regarding children and young people at risk of or experiencing abuse through sexual and/ or criminal exploitation and when children and young people go missing. See MeLearning for more information.

Child Protection Inter-Agency (CPIA) Training: Saturday Sessions
Would you like to attend the CPIA Level 3 interactive training on a Saturday? We have had to cancel previously arranged Saturday sessions due to lack of demand. For this reason we are compiling a waiting list in order to run future Saturday dates, so please contact us by emailing gscetraining@gloucestershire.gov.uk if you wish to register your interest.

Safeguarding Support for Educational Settings
Safeguarding in education relates to the legal duties headteachers, teachers, staff, Early Years Practitioners, Trustees, Management Committees and governors must follow to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people; because every child and young person has the right to be safe.
Gloucestershire Safeguarding Education Partnership is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and children.
We offer a range of services and training which adheres to ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ (currently dated September 2020) and the Early Years Statutory Framework guidance to ensure children and young people are kept safe from any form of abuse or neglect.
Through the purchase of our traded service package, we will work with you to ensure you have the skills and training to identify children at risk, ensure action is timely and that all leaders and managers fulfil all statutory responsibilities.

Details
The review sets out recommendations for making new multi-agency safeguarding arrangements for local areas more effective.
Safeguarding Partners are responsible for:
- the strategic oversight of all local safeguarding children policies in their area
- arrangements for child safeguarding practice reviews
- working with child death review partners on reviewing all child deaths in the area

Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel Annual report 2020
An independent annual report for serious child safeguarding incidents in 2020 published 14 May 2021 .
Details
This is the second annual report from the Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel.
It looks at serious child safeguarding incidents between 1 January and 31 December 2020.
It sets out patterns in practice for national government and local safeguarding partners to better protect vulnerable children.

Annual review of LCSPRs and rapid reviews
Introduction
The system of rapid reviews and local child safeguarding practice reviews (LCSPRs) was established in 2018, to replace the previous system of serious case reviews. For a while the two systems ran alongside each other, but since October 2019, only the new system can be used. The Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel (the Panel) published practice guidance in 2019 and its first Annual Report in 2020 (covering 2018-19).
