Upcoming road closures

There are a few road closures taking place overnight during the next few weeks. Please forward this information on to people who may be interested. We hope these maps will help you plan your journeys through the area. 

These road closures are for utilities work and resurfacing so once this is finished the Arle Court roundabout aspect of the scheme will nearly be complete.

22 - 26 March: A40 westbound lanes and Arle Court roundabout. Overnight closures between 7pm and 6am. Please see 22 - 26 March closures and diversions plan (PDF, 545.7 KB) for details. This includes the following closures:

  • A40 westbound lanes between Benhall roundabout and M5 Junction 11. This will include no access from Whittington Road and Telstar Way onto the A40 westbound.
  • Hatherley Lane in both directions between Arle Court roundabout and the B&Q roundabout. Access to businesses on Hatherley Lane from the B&Q roundabout maintained.
  • Fiddlers Green Lane in both directions between Arle Court roundabout and the Hotel access. Access to the hotel from Fiddlers Green Lane maintained.

27 - 29 March: A40 Gloucester Road eastbound lanes between Arle Court roundabout and Telstar Way, from 8pm on 27 March to 6am on 29 March. Please see 27 - 29 March closure and diversion plan (PDF, 379.5 KB) for details.

29 - 31 March: A40 westbound lanes and Arle Court roundabout. Overnight closures between 7pm and 6am. Please see 29 - 31 March closures and diversions plan (PDF, 554.4 KB) for details. This includes the following closures:

  • A40 westbound lanes between Benhall roundabout and M5 Junction 11. This will include no access from Whittington Road and Telstar Way onto the A40 westbound.
  • Hatherley Lane in both directions between Arle Court roundabout and the B&Q roundabout. Access to businesses on Hatherley Lane from the B&Q roundabout maintained.
  • B4063 in both directions between Arle Court roundabout and to the west of Badgeworth Road.

5 - 9 April: A40 eastbound lanes and Arle Court roundabout. Overnight closures between 7pm and 6am. Please see 5 - 9 April closures and diversions plan (PDF, 558.2 KB) for details. This includes the following closures:

  • A40 eastbound lanes between M5 Junction 11 and Telstar Way.
  • B4063 in both directions between Arle Court roundabout and to the west of Badgeworth Road.
  • Fiddlers Green Lane in both directions between Arle Court roundabout and the hotel access. Access to the hotel from Fiddlers Green Lane maintained.

9 April for duration of works: Telstar Way on to A40 Gloucester Road westbound - No Right Turn from Telstar Way onto A40 Gloucester Road westbound. A new right turn option from Hubble Road onto Telstar Way at the roundabout will be opened up during this closure. Please see Telstar Way - A40 no right turn plan (PDF, 322.5 KB) for details.

As Gloucestershire moves between different levels of Coronavirus restrictions, we want to reassure you that we are working with our highways contractors in Gloucestershire to protect all staff, following updated government and industry guidance regarding COVID-19 and construction work. 

We will continue to make progress with the West Cheltenham Transport Improvement Scheme using the principles of social distancing, bubbles and working remotely.
