From September 2021, new teachers will be supported throughout a 2-year statutory induction programme of professional development and mentoring.
The new Teaching School Hubs will be working as delivery partners with national providers to ensure all Early Career Teachers, and their mentors and schools, access and benefit from the Early Career Framework programme. The local Teaching School Hubs, Balcarras and Pate’s Grammar, will be meeting with the new national providers and will soon be sharing information with all schools about the providers and what their offer comprises. Schools are encouraged to engage with their local Teaching School Hub and be part of an aligned ECF offer through their Hub. The LA, Adfecto, the university and other local organisations are working closely together with the Hubs and the Teaching School Council to ensure the successful roll-out of the new arrangements.
Heads are asked to wait to hear more from the Hubs before making an individual relationship with a provider. The ideal is that there is a coherent offer that schools can sign up to via the Hubs. Further information can be found at the above link.
Governance
Opportunity for an experienced clerk
Governor Services offers a programme of high-quality and comprehensive training for governing boards in Gloucestershire. Our current programme offers a range of training opportunities which we are keen to develop further.
We are seeking an experienced clerk to deliver training and briefings to clerks across the county. Training takes place both during the day and at evening sessions, and may be delivered face to face or online.
Applicants should have current or very recent experience of clerking and school governance, either LA maintained or academy, and will need to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of governance and clerking, together with experience of delivering training.
Hours worked by individual trainers are by negotiation, to reflect both individual preference and the needs of the service.
For a brief discussion on current training procedures/delivery please contact Governor Services on 01452 427803 or email: governor.services@gloucestershire.gov.uk
