Scheme update - road closures

January road closures

We understand that these works may cause you disruption and we thank you for your patience and understanding. Our aim, as always, is to complete the work as quickly and safely as possible.

  • Monday 11 January - Sunday 17 January - lane closure on junction with Hubble Road and Telstar Way. This is to create an access into the car park (map below)
  • 12 and 13 Jan - A40 westbound between Benhall roundabout and Arle Court roundabout will be closed overnight 8pm - 6am.
  • 14 and 15 Jan - A40 eastbound between Arle Court roundabout and Benhall roundabout will be closed overnight 8pm - 6am.

Week commencing 18 January:

  • Mon 18 - Thur 21 - A40 eastbound between Arle Court and Benhall roundabout will be closed for four nights 8pm - 6am.
  • Fri 22 - A40 westbound between Benhall and Arle Court roundabout will be closed for one night 8pm - 6am.

Week commencing 25 January:

  • Mon 25 – Wed 27 Jan inclusive - A40 westbound between Benhall and Arle Court roundabout will be closed overnight 8pm - 6am.
  • Thur 28 and Fri 29 Jan - A40 eastbound from M5 Junction 11 to Arle Court roundabout will be closed overnight to remove barriers. More information will be available nearer the time.

COVID-19 position

As Gloucestershire moves between different levels of Coronavirus restrictions, we want to reassure you that we are working with our highways contractors in Gloucestershire to protect all staff, following updated government and industry guidance regarding COVID-19 and construction work. 

We will continue to make progress with the West Cheltenham Transport Improvement Scheme using the principles of social distancing, bubbles and working remotely.
