March GSPP Forum

Workshop

The GSPP Forum met on 3rd March where they heard updates from the Steering Group, sub-groups and the GP Lead. We also updated on some new pieces of work; suicide bereavement and the new suicide prevention strategy.

The Share & Learn section included presentations on;

  • Combat Stress which supports veterans and those currently serving in the armed forces and the Gloucester Community Network which facilitates the networking between individuals and organisations
  • The Door Youth Project whose mission is to bring hope into the lives of young people and their families, through unlocking potential and opening opportunity so their past does not define their future.
  • The Alexendra Wellbeing House which provides a safe, therapeutic environment for adults with mental health challenges for up to two weeks.
  • National Suicide Prevention Programme and Funding
  • Headway Gloucestershire who is dedicated to improving life after brain injury

You can read more about the meeting and review the slides here. Please note that the presentations provided at the Forum meeting pertains to information about services offered prior to the Covid-19 pandemic.  Please check with service providers to confirm what services are currently available.

Mental health and suicide prevention/ postvention training POSTPONED!

The additional mental health and suicide prevention/postvention training courses have been postponed.  This is in light of government guidance to stop non-essential contact with others because of the Coronavirus situation.

We hope to re-arrange these courses in due course and will let you know when the details have been finalised.
