Jan GSPP Forum workshop
On 15th January, members of the GSPP Forum met for the first workshop of 2019. Updates included developments from the Communications & Engagement and the Frequently Used Locations sub-groups, recent work by the GP Lead for Suicide Prevention (Dr Nicola Pockett), possible plans for World Suicide Prevention Day 2019 (10th September) and details of ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences). The Share & Learn section included updates on a 2 year pilot by the 2gether Trust to integrate a personalised delivery of social care in secondary mental health, the Self Harm Pathway Review, the Stay Alive app, ASIST training and GloW.
On 11th February, Gloucestershire County Council Public Health and construction company Kier, jointly hosted a mental health in construction event.
Construction workers from Kier, construction students and staff from Gloucestershire College and members from Constructing Excellence Gloucestershire attended mental health awareness workshops delivered by mental health charity Mates in Mind.
Chat Health - a school nurse text service for young people
A text messaging service for 11-19 year olds in Gloucestershire provides confidential advice about health and wellbeing to further improve access to healthcare for young people, and will offer support to young people with questions relating to various issues including relationships, bullying, healthy lifestyle, anxiety, drugs, smoking, stress, body worries, gender issues, alcohol, self-harm and sexual health.
