Unpaid Carers Overnight Respite at Moss Rose Cottage
We are delighted to announce that thanks to funding from Unpaid Carers Short Breaks Grants, we can offer more Free Overnight Respite Opportunities at MossRose Cottage!
These stays are available for Unpaid Carers from Cardiff and the Vale area. The weekend stays are available for the following weekends:
- Friday 13th Feb – Sunday 15th Feb
- Friday 13th Mar – Sunday 15th Mar
- Friday 20th Mar – Sunday 22nd Mar
These slots will be allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis. You can choose to stay at either the Annexe or the Cottage for up to two nights, or just one night if preferred.
Our flexible space include:
19th Century Cottage
- Games room
- Wellbeing lounge
- Kitchen diner area
- Downstairs bathroom with bath and shower
- 2 double bedrooms upstairs
Self-Contained Living Annexe
- 1 double sofa bed
- Open-plan kitchen and living area
- Bathroom and shower
This opportunity is designed for you to take a well-deserved break from caregiving duties and unwind. The space will be reserved exclusively for you during your stay.

- Please do not share this booking link with anyone else.
- Each person may only make one booking to ensure we can accommodate as many individuals as possible.
- While a cost may be displayed during booking, an automated discount code will remove it at checkout, making your stay free.
- Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email. Please ensure your contact details are up to date so we can provide further information.
Please note: To support as many unpaid carers as possible, you cannot book this Overnight Respite if you have previously used it.

Information about Carer’s Allowance
Carer’s Allowance (CA) is a Department for Work and Pension benefit in England, Wales and Northern Ireland for people who regularly spend at least 35 hours a week caring for a severely disabled person. You do not have to be related to, or live with, the disabled person. You can receive CA even if you have never worked.
CA is not means tested and does not depend on National Insurance (NI) contributions. It is taxable and counts as income for universal benefit.
CA is paid at a rate of £83.30 a week and, from April 2026, goes up £3.15 to £86.45.
Do you qualify?
A person could get Carer's Allowance if they:
- spend at least 35 hours a week caring for a person who receives one of the following qualifying benefits:
- Disability living allowance or child disability payment care component (at the middle or the highest rate only)
- Personal Independence Payment or adult disability payment daily living component (at either rate)
- Attendance allowance or pension age disability payment (at either rate)
- Constant attendance allowance paid with the Industrial Injuries/War Pensions Scheme or
- Armed forces independence payment
- are aged 16 or over
- Not be in full-time education
- If you work, your net earnings must not be more than £196 a week (£204 from April 2026)
- Not be subject to immigration control and must pass UK residence and presence tests

Nid oes rhaid i chi fod yn perthyn i’r unigolyn anabl, nac yn cyd-fyw. Gallwch chi dderbyn LG hyd yn oed os nad ydych erioed wedi gweithio.
Nid yw LG yn cynnwys prawf modd ac nid yw'n dibynnu ar gyfraniadau Yswiriant Gwladol (YG). Mae'n drethadwy ac yn cyfrif fel incwm ar gyfer budd-daliadau cynhwysol.
