Carer Friendly Accreditation
TuVida have been commissioned to deliver the Carer Friendly accreditation by the Cardiff and Vale Regional Partnership Board. An area of focus was for those services who provide a first point of contact for unpaid carers of all ages.
If you would like to register your interest or provide details of someone in your team best placed to discuss the Carer Friendly Accreditation with, please complete the registration form:

This is aimed to support organisations and teams to recognise, improve and increase access to information and support for unpaid carers. The accreditation is available free of charge for health, social care and third sector services across Cardiff & the Vale of Glamorgan.
If you are a service offering help for people seeking support, you may come across carers in your daily roles and being carer aware could benefit some of your service users and their families. I feel that this would be a fantastic opportunity for you to get the external recognition that the Carer Friendly Commitment and Accreditation can offer.
Becoming Carer Friendly means:
- Recognising the impact of being unpaid carers and how this can impact on those accessing your services
- Consider how to support customers and employees who have a caring role
- Having a basic plan on how to support this work
- Committing to two Carer Friendly Actions
It is a simple process to make a Carer Friendly Commitment; it can be done as an individual or a team.
All you need to do is go onto the website:
- Watch the 5-minute video supporting the understanding of unpaid carers
- Complete the Carer Friendly Commitment form
- Provide a high-resolution picture of your logo or a picture of yourself if you are making a commitment as an individual
- Share your two Carer Friendly actions (these actions can be consistent across your team)
- Demonstrate to the team how you are achieving at least one of the Carer Friendly actions by sharing information with LisaHowells@Tuvida.org BridieParrish@Tuvida.org
Your commitment will be promoted via our website:
There is an opportunity to go onto the next level and complete the Carer Friendly Accreditation, this includes Carer Awareness training for your teams which can be accessed digitally or face to face. If you would like to meet to discuss this further, please get in touch.
Carer Awareness training sessions are available virtually and you can register your interest to attend via Eventbrite using the below links:

Your story matters: A legacy through art
This September, join a free legacy project for people in Cardiff and the Vale living with life-limiting conditions. With the support of an art therapist, you’ll reflect on your life, express your story through art, and create something meaningful.
Your story matters — and deserves to be heard.
Care for a Cuppa
We’re also excited to be launching a new monthly carers group called Care for a Cuppa. This will take place on the first Wednesday of every month, starting on Wednesday 3rd September. It’s a relaxed and welcoming space for carers to come together, connect with others, and enjoy a cuppa.
Wellbeing Programmes
Marie Curie Hospice offers a 10-week wellbeing programme led by our health care professional team.
All of our services are free of charge, and you don’t need to be under other Marie Curie services to attend. We just ask for a little bit of information to help us support participants appropriately.
If you would like further information or to attend one or all of these sessions, please contact:

Note: If you have received this email from us, you do not need to provide your email address.

Mae dod yn Ystyriol o Ofalwyr yn golygu:
- Cydnabod yr effaith o fod yn ofalwr di-dâl a sut y gall hyn effeithio ar y rhai sy'n defnyddio eich gwasanaethau
- Ystyried sut i gefnogi cwsmeriaid a gweithwyr sydd â rôl ofalu
- Meddu ar gynllun sylfaenol i gefnogi'r gwaith hwn
- Ymrwymo i ddwy Weithred sy'n Ystyriol o Ofalwyr
- Mae'n broses syml i wneud Ymrwymiad Ystyriol o Ofalwyr; gellir ei wneud fel unigolyn neu dîm.

Os ydych chi'n derbyn gwybodaeth gofalwyr drwy’r post ar hyn o bryd, neu os oes rhywun wedi anfon y wybodaeth hon ymlaen atoch, byddem yn ddiolchgar iawn pe gallech ddarparu cyfeiriad e-bost, fel nad ydych yn colli cyfleoedd i wneud cais am gyllid neu fynychu cwrs hyfforddi priodol, er enghraifft.
