Spring into action with Carers Active April 2025
The month-long campaign aims to raise awareness of the importance of physical activity for carers and highlight the benefits of moving more. Carers often face a challenging time, and see their own health and wellbeing impacted by their caring responsibilities.
Getting Started guide
There’s no need to be the fastest, strongest, or last the longest. It’s about making you feel good and helping you build activity into your routine. Check out this handy Getting Started guide to help.

The Carer’s Leave Act One Year On
The Carers Leave Act which came into effect on the 6th April 2024 and provides all employees with a new right to carer’s leave.
The Act gives unpaid carers in employment up to five days’ of unpaid leave to help them juggle their caring role with paid work. It was hard-won and is a step in the right direction, toward paid carer's leave, which is the best way to support carers in the workplace.
Despite being around for a year now, many carers in employment are not aware of, or able to, take advantage of these new rights. So, if you know somebody balancing paid work and care, let them know!
To mark the anniversary of the Act's implementation, we've drawn carers' experiences with unpaid leave and flexible working into a short report, which you can read here:

Advance Notice - Carers’ Week 9 -15 June 2025
Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.
The theme for Carers Week 2025 is 'Caring About Equality', calling for an equal society where carers are truly valued, recognised and supported.
Each day of Carers’ Week will have a specific focus and highlight the different ways inequality impacts carers' lives:
- Monday: Health and social care
- Tuesday: Financial wellbeing
- Wednesday: Work and employment
- Thursday: Younger carers
- Friday: Older carers
- Saturday: Mental health and wellbeing
- Sunday: Reflections on Carers Week
Carers Week provides a vital opportunity to raise awareness of the challenges facing carers and to connect more carers to available support. There will be plenty of ways to get involved in the lead up to Carers Week - or by participating in the hundreds of events and activities that will be promoted throughout the UK and online during the week itself.

Y Ddeddf Absenoldeb i Ofalwyr a ddaeth i rym ar 6 Ebrill 2024 ac sy’n rhoi hawl newydd i bob gweithiwr i absenoldeb gofalwr.
Mae’r Ddeddf yn rhoi hyd at pimp diwrnod o absenoldeb di-dâl i ofalwyr di-dâl mewn cyflogaeth i’w helpu i jyglo eu rôl ofalu â gwaith â thâl. Roedd wedi’i ennill yn galed ac mae’n gam i’r cyfeiriad cywir, tuag at absenoldeb gofalwyr â thâl, sef y ffordd orau o gefnogi gofalwyr yn y gweithle.
Er eu bod o gwmpas ers blwyddyn bellach, nid yw llawer o ofalwyr mewn cyflogaeth yn ymwybodol o’r hawliau newydd hyn nac yn gallu manteisio arnynt. Felly, os ydych chi'n adnabod rhywun sy'n cydbwyso gwaith cyflogedig a gofal, rhowch wybod iddynt!
I nodi pen-blwydd gweithredu’r Ddeddf, rydym wedi tynnu profiadau gofalwyr gydag absenoldeb di-dâl a gweithio hyblyg mewn adroddiad byr, y gallwch ei ddarllen yma:

Rhybudd ymlaen llaw - Wythnos Gofalwyr 9 -15 Mehefin 2025
Mae’r Wythnos Gofalwyr yn ymgyrch flynyddol i godi ymwybyddiaeth o ofalu, tynnu sylw at yr heriau y mae gofalwyr di-dal yn eu hwynebu a chydnabod eu cyfraniad at deuluoedd a chymunedau ledled y DU. Mae hefyd yn helpu pobl nad ydynt yn ystyried eu hunain yn bobl sydd â chyfrifoldebau gofalu i uniaethu fel gofalwyr a chael gafael ar gymorth y mae mawr ei angen.
Mae Wythnos Gofalwyr eleni yn rhoi sylw i gydraddoldeb ym maes gofalu, gan alw am gymdeithas gyfartal lle mae gofalwyr yn cael eu gwerthfawrogi, eu cydnabod a'u cefnogi.
Bydd ffocws penodol i bob diwrnod o’r Wythnos Gofalwyr i dynnu sylw at y gwahanol ffyrdd y mae anghydraddoldeb yn effeithio ar fywydau gofalwyr:
- Dydd Llun: Iechyd a gofal cymdeithasol
- Dydd Mawrth: Lles ariannol
- Dydd Mercher: Gwaith a chyflogaeth
- Dydd Iau: Gofalwyr iau
- Dydd Gwener: Gofalwyr hŷn
- Dydd Sadwrn: Iechyd meddwl a lles
- Dydd Sul: Myfyrio ar Wythnos Gofalwyr
Mae Wythnos Gofalwyr yn gyfle hanfodol i godi ymwybyddiaeth o'r heriau sy'n wynebu gofalwyr ac i gysylltu mwy o ofalwyr â'r cymorth sydd ar gael. Bydd digon o gyfle i gymryd rhan yn y cyfnod cyn Wythnos Gofalwyr - neu drwy gymryd rhan yn y cannoedd o ddigwyddiadau a gweithgareddau a fydd yn cael eu hyrwyddo ledled y DU ac ar-lein yn ystod yr wythnos ei hun.
