Welcome to all Child Exploitation Champions!

Happy New Year to all our Child Exploitation Champions! We hope everyone had a good Christmas and is excited about what 2021 has to offer. We have lots planned this year to help you in your development as Child Exploitation (CE) Champions. We know you are waiting for the exploitation e-learning to officially become CE champions, please bear with us we will let you know as soon as it is available.

As you will know, the role of the Child Exploitation Champion has changed to ensure it captures the wider exploitation of children, not just sexual exploitation. The ESCB has updated the requirements and expectations of the CE Champions role to meet the wider remit. You can read the full details of the CE Champions role, which also explains what support can be expected from the ESCB and should ensure that the role is given the appropriate support from within partner organisations.

There are a few exciting updates to share with you below and in the meantime if you have any questions about your role please get in touch

Child Exploitation Champions Forum - booking live!

CE Forums

The first piece of exciting news is that we are launching a Child Exploitation Champion Forum.  There is no requirement for you to attend this as part of your CE Champion role, however we hope many of you will find it useful. You are welcome to attend this forum even if you have not yet completed the exploitation e-learning package (more about this below).

The first forum will focus on: 

  • update on Child Exploitation over the past year
  • impact of Covid on Child Exploitation
  • a dedicated focus on missing children

Child Exploitation E-Learning - coming soon...


We anticipate the NEW Southend, Essex and Thurrock Exploitation E-Learning will be launching in March 2021. This is slightly later than we had hoped, but we know it will be worth the wait and we hope it will help you feel confident in your role. We will be in touch as soon as it is available. The new SET Partnership CE Pathway will also be launched at the same time.

Stay Safe Webinars


We still have places on our exciting new Stay Safe Webinars. There are multiple dates available for each topic. Webinars will all be run on Microsoft Teams throughout January, February and March 2021. They are free to attend but a charge will be made for non-attendance.

NWG Training Events


The NWG offer many training opportunities and events in relation to child exploitation throughout the year, which we regularly promote on the ESCB website. Please note that all of these events are booked directly with NWG on their website.
