November 2020 Update


Financial Abuse Event - resources now available

ESAB led on supporting National Safeguarding Adults Week this year, by hosting a Virtual Financial Abuse Event for professionals who work with adults.

A campaign to spread awareness to the public of the importance of reporting this type of abuse was also run over the seven days, via our social media accounts.

The Essex Safeguarding Adults Board Annual Report 2019 - 2020 can now be accessed on our website. The report has been developed in collaboration with our partner agencies and represents the work of the Board over the 2019-20 year period.

SET Guidance - updates

The SET Staff Handbook & SET Guide to Developing a Safeguarding Policy have been updated and we advise that you replace any saved previous copies with the latest versions that can be found and downloaded on our website.

*NEW* Stay Safe Webinars - Book your place today!

Following the cancellation of the Violence and Vulnerability Conference in March due to Covid restrictions we are excited to announce four new Stay Safe Webinars. There are multiple dates available for each topic. Webinars will all be run on Microsoft Teams throughout January, February and March 2021. They are free to attend but a charge will be made for non-attendance.

  • Psychology of the offender (Zoe Lodrick)
  • Understanding gangs and criminal exploitation (Craig Pinkney)

Flu vaccination experiences in Essex

Healthwatch are gathering information on how this winter’s flu vaccination campaign is working for the people of Essex. They are looking for local people to talk to about their experiences before the consultation ends on the 31st December.

DA Awareness Week

Following the launch of SETDAB’s Southend, Essex & Thurrock Domestic Abuse Strategy 2020-2025 and in support of Domestic Abuse Week this week, SETDAB hosted webinars that addressed each key outcome that features within the new strategy. If you missed them, the content will be going on the SETDAB website, we encourage you to sign up to the SETDAB bulletin to receive all key updates and news.
