What does mindfulness mean in the Early Years?

mini mindfulness

Did you know that 70% of children and young people who have experienced a mental health problem have not had appropriate interventions at a sufficiently early age? (Mental Health Foundation UK)

With our NEW webinar ‘Mini Mindfulness’ on the 26th June 2020, it will equip your staff to support pupil’s ability to explore, express and understand what is going on in their heads and inside their bodies. You will look at ways in which mindful activities can support children in achieving a range of developmental milestones. Book your space today to avoid missing out.

Early Years Autism Education Trust: Making Sense of Autism

This 2 hour virtual training will give staff a better understanding and awareness of autism and the way it affects children in their setting.  At the end of the training all participants will be able to:

  • Identify the four key areas of difference that need to be taken into account when working with children on the autism spectrum
  • Know the importance of understanding the individual child and their profile of strengths and weaknesses
  • Identify the key areas to help children on the autism spectrum build positive relationships with staff, peers, families and people in their community

Physical and neurological impairment and pre-school settings

pni

The Physical and Neurological Impairment Specialist Teaching (PNI ST) team is part of the PSISTS (Physical and Sensory Impairment Specialist Teaching Service). We work across Essex and can help you with meeting the needs of children with a severe physical difficulty and / or complex medical need, who meet our criteria.

We can help with physical access to the setting, adapting the activities to include children with a PNI, as well as planning for their transition to school or other PNI-related matters. We work alongside other people who support these children, such as occupational therapists, to help make sure the children have the equipment they need.

If you need support or guidance in welcoming children with a PNI into or back into your setting, please contact your specialist teacher if you already have one. If you have a new request for support, please visit the PNI page on the early years and childcare website for more information and details on how to contact us.

If I go to the dentist what will I see?

cds

An astronaut or a superhero standing waiting for me?

With a long flowing cape and magic gloves, we can wave bye bye to all those bugs

With an Astronaut helmet to cover our eyes, this is our Superhero disguise

It’s so special to see, have they worn this for me? Will they make a superhero of me?

Now the secret is out and you know what our powers can do, you can be sure we will look after you.

Our superhero disguise. Ssshhhh. Some of our superheroes without their disguise!
