Dear friends and colleagues,

We are online! Need music tuition? Musical resources? Support for your child’s music-making? All our provision is now online and ready to be streamed directly into your home!

As your local music service, we remain open for business, and able to provide a range of online services to support you, your school, and your community. While we will not be returning to deliver normal face-to-face lessons for the rest of this academic year, we have swiftly moved our instrumental learning provision online so any young person wishing to continue their instrumental lessons, and anyone wishing to start on their musical journey can sign up for tuition!

When joining us online, you will have free access to our workshops and wider resources we have to offer. More information about our online provision can be found here.

Charanga - primary age music resource

charanga

Already used by over 300 schools, Charanga has Yumu built into the platform.  If you haven’t done so already, click on the Yumu icon at the top of the screen once you’ve logged in. You can then follow the instructions to set Assignments for your students containing your own favourite resources, exercises and pieces, or Charanga’s.

O-Generator - primary age music resource

O-Gen

Allows all young people to have access to composing tools, and this software package contains video guidance for students to follow and create their own work. Students work can then be saved to online and accessed remotely by teachers and commented on.

VIP Studio Sessions - secondary age music resource

VIP

VIP Studio Sessions turns any computer into a studio and contains a wealth of video tutorials and guidance for both students and teachers on how to make beats, write and record lyrics and teaches students to mix and produce a finished piece of music.

This software covers a wealth of music styles such as Hip Hop, House, Grime, Dubstep and there are guidance videos to aid beginners to quickly grow in proficiency.

Focus on Sound - secondary age music resource

A multi-media lesson system for KS3, GCSE and A level music enabling teachers to set tasks and activities and then have these completed remotely by the student, and this software will provide all the feedback as to how well they completed the set task.

Focus On Sound contains  on-line lessons including listening activities, videos, composing of all styles.

An ideal piece of software for current and potential GCSE and A level students, covering set works for different boards with comprehensive analysis and listening project
