Is your Ukrainian guest fluent in English and Ukrainian or Russian?
If you think they might be interested in freelance translation work opportunities or pursuing training as an interpreter, the following organisations are actively recruiting now and would like to hear from them. Click on the links below to find out more & apply聽馃憞
If you choose to claim 拢350 payments as a host of Ukrainian guests, Districts and borough councils are now starting to make these payments and will be prioritising those who have been hosting the longest.
Whilst this has taken longer than we expected, your invitations to apply are on their way to you. We apologise sincerely for the delays and any issues they may have caused, and please rest assured we are working hard to get these to you as soon as possible. Payments will be backdated to the date your guest arrived.
Please do not contact us or the borough and district councils to ask about host payments - you will be contacted directly by your local district or borough council as soon as possible to let you know how to apply.
We thank you for your patience.
Please note that local voluntary action groups are no longer distributing 拢200 welcome payments to newly-arrived guests.
If your guest is awaiting their 拢200 welcome payment, they will be sent a code to their mobile phone which can be taken to any branch of the Post Office to collect the payment.
Your guests or you may be contacted directly by your local borough or district council to confirm details for payment.聽聽
Your guest can claim benefits immediately if they have arrived through the Homes for Ukraine scheme.聽
Before applying for Universal Credit, your guest can talk by phone or online with advisers from the free Help to Claim service at Citizens Advice. They can also arrange a translator if your guest needs one.
If their mobile number changes after they've claimed Universal Credit or applied for a National Insurance number, they should let the Jobcentre/Department for Work and Pensions know about their new number. Payment could be delayed if the number is not up to date.聽
Please remember that we ask all hosts to update our online form twice only.聽
First - When you give us details of everyone aged 16 or over in your household so we can carry out safety checks
Second - please use the form to tell us when your guests arrive. This will help us speed up payments and services that are due.聽
You only need to do each of these steps once. If you've already updated the form, no need to do it again - thank you.聽
This newsletter is sent to every host (sponsor) in East Sussex who is part of Homes for Ukraine to keep you updated. You can unsubscribe at any time.聽
We expect to send you a further update next week. Until then, we'd like to wish you all an enjoyable weekend.聽
