Welcome to Working Well East Riding (WWER), an initiative from East Riding of Yorkshire Council which aims to raise awareness and improve access to health and wellbeing support, specifically for businesses across the local area.
By registering for the scheme, public health will provide information, training and resources, alongside support for campaigns and further initiatives to improve the health and wellbeing of the wider East Riding workforce. A key element of the scheme is to encourage businesses to work together as part of a local network and share good practice.

Upcoming Health and Wellbeing campaigns
Men's Health Week (12 to 18 June 2023)
In mid-June we will be celebrating Men's Health Week. This is a time to bring awareness to health issues that affect men disproportionately and a focus on getting men to become aware of problems they may have or could develop, and gain the courage to do something about it.
Men's Health Week (MHW) is designed to give all boys and men access to the information, services and treatment they need to live healthier, longer and more fulfilling lives. Last year MHW focused on raising awareness of how men were being impacted by COVID-19 and the long-term effects of the pandemic. This year, the theme is to highlight Men's Health and the internet.
There are some health benefits to being able to access health information or deliver and receive health services online but what are the downsides? Are we fuelling internet addictions that cost money, relationships or work? Why not get your business involved with Men's Health Week this June and promote health MOT's to all male employees or even get those aged 40-74 registered for an NHS Healthcheck?
Cervical Screening Awareness Week (19 to 24 June 2023)
Going for a cervical screening isn't always easy and everyone's experience is different. So many changes in life, from big milestones to how we feel day-to-day can all have an impact.
This Cervical Screening Awareness Week, Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust are sharing different experiences from women and other people with a cervix. They will also be sharing information, tips and support on how to make attending a screening a little bit easier.
