Covid rates are rising fast and it's important we do everything we can to protect ourselves and others
Those eligible to book their winter vaccines should do so as soon as possible. Winter vaccines include:
- flu
- COVID-19 boosters
- 1st and 2nd doses of COVID-19 vaccine for anyone eligible who still hasn't received theirs.
Remember, when you are called for your booster dose, you can come forward confident that the benefits in preventing serious COVID-19 far outweigh any risks.

Help slow down the spread
We are continuing to see very high COVID-19 rates in Elmbridge, and now more than ever we need to do everything we can to prevent the spread of the newly identified Omicron variant.
Earlier this week, the Prime Minister announced the introduction of the following measures as a precaution to slow down the spread:
- Face coverings are now compulsory in shops and on public transport, unless you are exempt.
- Anyone entering the UK now requires a PCR test within 48 hours of arrival and must self-isolate until they have a negative result.
- All contacts of suspected COVID-19 Omicron cases will be contacted by NHS test and trace and are required to self-isolate for 10 days, regardless of vaccination status.
- Boosters will now be offered to all adults and a second jab offered to children aged 12 to15.
- Pupils at secondary schools in England are being strongly advised to wear face coverings in communal areas. The guidance also applies to staff and visitors at all schools and childcare settings.
You are also advised to test for COVID-19 before going to crowded places or spending time with those who are at greater risk. Anyone testing positive must self-isolate.
