With COP30 taking place in Brazil this month looking at international cooperation on climate change, it’s important to remember the impact of local action.
In East Hampshire we have several climate action networks including:
You can get involved in one that is local to you or get in touch with an existing CAN for advice if you’re interested in setting one up in your area.

22-30 November is National Tree Week, and this year PeCAN is continuing to offer discounted two-year-old bare root trees for just £21.50 each (trees normally cost £30-£60).
PeCAN's A Fruit Tree In Every Garden project has provided more than 3,000 discounted trees and over 3km of hedging plants to East Hampshire residents over the past five years.
Trees can be collected from Petersfield, Alton, Headley, Liphook, and Rowland’s Castle on Saturday 17 January.

Black Friday is estimated to create an extra 1.5million tonnes of waste in the UK, around half of this is from packaging.
If you’re determined to scratch the Black Friday itch, why not make it a green Black Friday by buying second hand from websites like Vinted or Depop, or buying from a local charity shop. You’ll probably be able to get gifts and clothes cheaper than a Black Friday deal and you’ll be keeping things that would otherwise be thrown away going to good use.
There’s an Eco Christmas Bonanza on Saturday 29 November at St Lawrence Church, Alton where you will find gifts, crafting ideas and pre-loved toys and books.
