Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 21 November to 21 December, Gilbert White’s House & Gardens will be hosting White’s Eco Light Festival.
This is a light festival with a difference – they will be using renewable energy sources, solar power and low-level lighting with environmental consciousness at its core, remembering Gilbert White and his internationally important legacy to ecology. Fun for all the family, this is a chance to make new memories and discover how you can make changes to help wildlife and the environment around you.
The festival has been supported with more than £41,000 from our Rural Grant Scheme, part of the Grow Up! Programme.

Buy Nothing Day takes place on Friday 29 November, the same day as Black Friday, when businesses will do their best to convince you to spend money on things you may not need.
It's a 24-hour detox from consumerism and an opportunity for you to tune into the impact we have on the environment through shopping.
People around the world will make a pact with themselves to take a break from consumption as a personal experiment or public statement, and the best thing is - IT'S FREE!!!
