This week (8-14 February) is Apprenticeship Week. Could you future-proof your workforce by hiring an apprentice?
East Hampshire District Council's Enterprise Apprenticeship Scheme offers support to local businesses by subsidising wages and contributing towards transport and training costs for apprentices joining businesses in the district.
Businesses of all sizes are eligible for the scheme. In particular, we encourage applications from small and medium sized businesses.
To be eligible for the scheme, businesses must:
- have a physical address in East Hampshire
- pay business rates to East Hampshire District Council
- offer a minimum of 30 hours per week
- contribute towards the wages
- apprentices must live within the EHDC area.

Businesses that are able to offer any number of job placements for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit who are at risk of long term unemployment can now apply directly through the GOV.UK website for a Kickstart scheme grant.
You can get help with your application from a Kickstart gateway that is already working with the scheme.
Our business support page includes links to grants for businesses that have been affected by coronavirus restrictions, as well as links to other sources of support.
