The third and final round of Local Authority Discretionary Grants is now open for applications.
The grants are aimed at businesses employing fewer than 50 people that did not qualify for grants through the Small Business or Retail, Hospitality and Leisure grant schemes.
The criteria have again been extended to include properties with a rateable value of up to £100,000 and the rateable value limit has been removed for pubs.
Applications will close at midnight on Sunday 16 August.

The government has set a deadline of Friday 28 August for all grants to be paid from the Small Business or Retail Hospitality and Leisure grant schemes.

As you are probably aware, although lockdown measures have been lifted to allow most businesses to reopen, some must remain closed until further notice.
They are:
- Bowling alleys
- Indoor skating rinks
- Casinos
- Exhibition halls and conference centres
- Nightclubs, dance halls, discotheques
- Sexual entertainment venues and hostess bars
- Indoor play areas, including soft-play areas
If your business or venue is permitted to reopen or remain open, it must close off or cease to provide any of the above services if they are part of the business. For example, an indoor play area as part of a restaurant must remain closed.

The government is running a #ShopLocal week this week, as part of its #EnjoySummerSafely campaign.
The week is to celebrate the British high street – encouraging customers to come back to their safe local shops, supporting the local economy and local jobs.
The government has produced a toolkit to help businesses engage with the campaign.
