Thank you to everyone who has been getting in touch about their bins. As you know, it is the first week of our new waste contract so we’re doing everything we possibly can to make the change as smooth as possible.
There have been a few key themes to the comments we’ve been getting so we thought we’d try to answer them all together.
1. My bin hasn’t been collected
The Norse South East crews are doing their best to collect every bin that’s out from every home. Some of them are new to the area and to the job. Even the experienced drivers and loaders are driving new vehicles and using new technology so please bear with them.
If your bin isn’t collected, please report it through MyEHDC.
2. I didn’t get a new calendar telling me when to put my bin out
Calendar postcards were sent out from 11-17 September. They were sent to every home address in East Hampshire and would have been delivered with your normal post. No distribution method is perfect, so if you haven’t had your calendar, you can find it online through our website.
To search for your calendar, go to: maps.easthants.gov.uk
 3. My old calendar includes October 2019, isn’t it still valid?
The old calendars (produced in September 2018) included October 2019 but the new calendars (see above) are the ones to look at from this week.
Your collection day is likely to have changed from this week.
Find your new calendar here: maps.easthants.gov.uk
4. Our additional collection hasn’t happened yet
Some homes will have received a letter about an additional collection.
If your bin was out on the right day but hasn’t been collected, please leave it out and report the bin as missed.
5. Why can’t you take more types of plastic?
Hampshire County Council set the things that can (and can’t) be recycled. Unfortunately, bottles are the only plastics that can be accepted at the moment.
Find out more on the HCC website.
We’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you for being understanding as we get the new service up and running.
We’re working closely with Norse South East to ensure that collections settle down as quickly as possible.
