Temporary changes to stray dog management

dog image 3

A recent parvovirus outbreak means there are short-term changes to how stray dogs are collected and housed.

These arrangements will be in place for around two weeks while an alternative safe holding location is secured. If you find a stray dog:

  • Stay in the area – the owner may be nearby.
  • Post a photo on community social media and lost pet websites.
  • Call into a vet to check for a microchip.

If you still need help, please call Environmental Health on 01395 517457.

Remember, it’s important to protect your pets. Make sure your dog is fully vaccinated against serious diseases like parvovirus and is microchipped, as required by law.
