Applications open to join the Standards Committee
Do you care about integrity, fairness, and how councils work? We’re looking for community-minded people to join our Standards Committee in key roles:
Independent Person (x2) – Advise on councillor conduct and support fair decision-making.
Independent Member (x2) – Bring impartial insight to quarterly meetings in Honiton.
Town/Parish Council Rep – Represent your peers and shape local governance.
All roles offer a £400 annual allowance, plus expenses. Applicants should be politically neutral, and committed to high standards in public life. If this sounds like you, please visit our website to read more and apply.

Sign up for green waste collections
Our green waste collections are proving to be ever popular, with over 22,000 users across East Devon subscribed to the service, and more joining every day.
Make your gardening easier and save trips to the recycling centre by having your green waste collected at the kerbside.
You can sign up online by calling 01395 571515.
All the green waste we collect from households is composted in East Devon and used as a natural soil conditioner by East Devon farms – part of our local green economy.

Women’s Rugby World Cup
Avoid the congestion on match day and bus it to Sandy Park on Sunday 31 August and Saturday 6, Saturday 13, and Sunday 14 September 2025. Shuttle buses are running for match days from Exeter St Davids, stopping in the city centre, and Heavitree, en route to Sandy Park.

Exhibition opens next weekend: CAMP – Where Are We Now?

A new exhibition of work created by Devon and Cornwall-based artists belonging to Contemporary Art Membership Platform (CAMP) will feature inspiring contemporary art responding to the environment themes.
The exhibition opening will take place on Saturday 6 September 2025 from 3pm to 5pm, and will be on display until Saturday 25 October 2025.
