About the role:
The concept of the Clyst Valley Regional Park is intrinsic to our work to deliver the Cranbrook new community and employment space in the Enterprise Zone. As our Green Infrastructure Project Manager, you will have a key role in ensuring the delivery of the award winning Clyst Valley Regional Park Masterplan, to ensure that the park meets its unique social, environmental and economic objectives. This role will include the implementation of the first 25 acres of new public access space, in the form of the Clyst Meadows Countryside Park, purchased in Autumn 2022. An important milestone in delivering the Clyst Valley Regional Park The role is varied, with opportunities for protection and enhancing biodiversity, seeking opportunities to respond to climate change and for knowledge sharing and innovation, as well as creating opportunities to inspire and enthuse.
About you:
You will have a strong track record in delivering green infrastructure projects and initiatives, with experience in developing projects in natural and semi-natural habitats. With excellent project management skills, you will have the ability to manage multiple projects within the overarching Clyst Valley Regional Park programme. You will be highly motivated and have a good understanding of grant funding opportunities, as well as using CIL & s.106 contributions to deliver projects within the masterplan. You will also have a proven track record in writing masterplans and strategies for green infrastructure projects, as well as scoping opportunities for project delivery. You will be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a supportive team.

Operations Manager (StreetScene)

About the role:
Working from our depots and offices across our district as well as from home, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver our highly valued £multi-million StreetScene service in a high profile tourist resort and area of outstanding natural beauty where our environment and beaches are our shop front. In a role which covers grounds maintenance, street & public buildings cleansing, creative commercial use of our outdoor spaces, and beach safety and infrastructure, you will be responsible for running a safe and efficient service to provide the high quality, clean, and green public realm our residents and visitors expect and beautiful public spaces for people to enjoy. You will be joining us at an exciting time with an opportunity to shape how we take our service forward supporting our climate change action plan, and developing our green tourism offer and Blue Flag Award winning beach infrastructure, all whilst improving the way we work to help us meet the growing demands placed on our service. About you:
Organised, efficient and inspiring, you will deliver a StreetScene Operations service to exceed expectations. First and foremost, you will need extensive vocational experience in a field such as cleansing, grounds maintenance or horticulture, with a strong background in line managing and leading staff in a comparable operational environment, including practical experience of reviewing systems of work, ensuring a safety first mind-set and reviewing technology and equipment to continue improving our standards and efficiency. Ideally with a NVQ level 5 management qualification affording you sound knowledge of the operational management and motivation of large teams. Able to build rapport quickly, you will have the gravitas and knowledge to lead and influence others in the work and the passion, drive and organisational skills to juggle a demanding role. You will also be competent in the use of Microsoft Office and information and communication technology to make best use of time and resources. A strong ability to manage budgets, deadlines, and especially people. This, combined with real attention to detail and a communicative nature, will see the team deliver a friendly, user-focused service. Some weekend working and out of hours emergency response handling are also a feature of this role. This post is politically restricted and employees are prohibited from participating in political activities.
