Area Building Surveyor

About the role:
As an Area Building Surveyor, you will provide complete building surveying services across the council's diverse non-housing property assets within a geographical area. You will support the Team in achieving the Council's priorities and objectives, and take a lead role in providing facilities management and building maintenance; including the delivery of reactive, planned and capital works, life cycle planning and landlord health & safety compliance.
About you:
You will have a HNC or equivalent in a building related subject, have excellent IT skills and knowledge in construction, building regulations and contract administration as well as able to demonstrate experience of managing maintenance or construction works. Enthusiastic and self-motivated with a 'can-do attitude', you will also have good attention to detail and the ability to work effectively on your own initiative as well as part of a team. You must hold a valid driving licence (reasonable adjustments may be possible according to the Equality Act).

Housing Triage Officer

About the role:
As a Housing Triage Officer, you will support and assist our Housing Officers to provide a comprehensive and innovative housing advice service to our customers. You will be the first point of contact for people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness and you'll provide our customers with initial triage, advice and signposting services. In this interesting and varied role, you will also manage triage applications, ensuring that all required documentation is provided before you allocate the case to a Housing Officer, prioritising urgent cases when necessary. You will also assist the Housing Officers by making initial enquiries to verify homelessness, arranging appointments and ensuring case files are kept up to date.
About you:
You will be a competent administrator and have a good general standard of education. Organised, efficient and motivated, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ideally some practical experience in a front facing, customer service role. You will also need to have a calm and empathetic manner along with the ability to be assertive and resilient. You must be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, and have good attention to detail, particularly as you will be working within a busy office and providing valuable support to our Housing Officers.
