    Tree Planting - Volunteers Needed!

Montage of volunteer tree planting in the Clyst Valley

Our friends at National Trust Killerton have a massive community tree planting planned next month. They are planting thousands of trees in the Culm floodplain, and they would love to have your help on Sunday 13th February!

    Details of how to join

Planting trees is a fun activity, it is brilliant for the environment, and it is good for people too. It can really make you feel positive about the future.

A further day is scheduled for Wednesday 23 February

    Farewell To Jon

Project Officer Jon Freeman with Teddy Bear and Wellingtonia

After four and a half years working in the Clyst Valley Regional Park, on projects including “Great Trees in the Clyst Valley”, “Cranbrook Canopy”, and latterly: “Routes For Roots”, project officer Jon Freeman is moving on to pastures new.

He will be joining Devon Wildlife Trust on their “Saving Devon’s Treescapes” project, a county-wide response to Ash Dieback disease. We will still see him in the Clyst Valley however, because this project has Exeter and the Clyst Valley as one of their  focus areas and he will be working with the team promoting tree planting, hedgerow creation, seed collection, and creating a new tree nursery in Broadclyst.

Rest assured though, the Clyst Valley Regional Park will keep on growing, with community heritage events, walks, and activities, forthcoming in the spring and summer ahead.
