How to choose a dog walker
If you're looking for a dog walker why not check out this handy guide from the Dogs Trust. The Pebblebed Heaths Conservation Trust currently licence 27 dog walking companies to use the heaths. They lead by example in actively promoting the Pebblebed Dog Code. Each year licenced walkers are issued with a sticker to display in their vehicle. See the list of licenced walkers here.

Festive foods to avoid...
There are several popular Christmas foods that are poisonous for dogs. These include chocolate, anything containing raisins, currents or sultanas (mince pies, Christmas cake and pudding) blue cheese, macadamia nuts and anything containing onion, garlic and leeks. Just because something is wrapped doesn't mean it's protected either! Think about chocolate tree decorations, advent calendars and edible presents under the tree.

Success for Wildlife Refuges
|
|
Our Wildlife Refuges at the Duckpond and Dawlish Warren are working! Higher numbers of birds have been counted and disturbance events have decreased, a recent report has shown. We wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to all of our dog walkers that have kept out of these areas to give the birds space. The Exmouth refuge ends on 31st December as the birds start moving further around the estuary but wherever you see birds, please give them space. The Dawlish Warren Wildlife Refuge remains in place all year round to protect this very special area for wildlife. Read the full report here. |
