East Devon Remembrance Sunday - We will never forget 

2 min silence EDDC

Residents across the district have been asked to join the council, its members and staff, along with the rest of the country to observe a two-minute silence at 11am on Sunday, 14 November, as part of Remembrance Day to remember those who have paid the price for our freedom.

An Ottery play area, designed by more than 200 local children, is getting a £50,000 revamp, with new equipment including a ground level trampoline and a 12 metre zip wire.

The Winter’s Lane play area, owned by East Devon District Council (EDDC), will also be getting a 2.4 metre tall rope climbing pyramid, a slide and climbing area, picnic bench, a toddler swing and a toddler and parent swing.

FREE COURSES: Construction, electrics, digital marketing, IT skills and more

Digital and Technical Skills Bootcamps start this January

The Digital and Technical Skills Bootcamps offer fully funded industry training courses to help people build sector skills. 

Opportunities are available for all adults aged 19+ who are resident in Devon. 

Unemployed or independent learners can use the bootcamps to re-train and gain skills to move into job roles which are very much in demand.  Employers can use the training courses to upskill their employees*, and the self-employed can build skills to grow opportunities for their business.

Courses include Advanced building construction, Pre-apprentice electrical installation, Net zero retrofit
