Free Couch to Coast walks launched in Exmouth
Join us to explore the Coast Path around Exmouth
We've organised a series of short FREE Coast Path walks, aimed at people taking their first steps into being active and who would like to take part in gentle, social, guided activity in nature. These sessions are designed to introduce you to the beauty and variety of the South West Coast Path and help you plan future trips to the Coast Path.
We will be exploring the stretch of coastline in and around Exmouth. Each session will be led by an experienced leader and each week we will be building up the distance gradually so that on the last session, we complete a full 5km. Each session will be followed by refreshments.
At each walk, we will be taking a different look at the Path such as its local history and wildlife.
Dates:
The first session will take place on Thursday 7 October at 10am at the café at Ocean (Queen’s Drive, Exmouth EX8 2AY) and will include an introduction to the project, a short seafront walk and refreshments.

Winter opening times and cleaning schedules updated for East Devon public toilets
From Friday 1 October our toilets will move onto winter opening hours – 8am – 7pm.
We will also be cleaning each site 3 times per day which will ensure we are providing an enhanced clean of each site, which will also align with the reduced demand we expect to see once the daylight gets shorter.
There will be a morning clean, lunch / early afternoon clean and late afternoon / early evening clean which will give us the best possible coverage with the resource we have.
LED Community Leisure welcomed a number of doctors and volunteers from Exmouth surgeries for their first face-to-face training which will help GPs start a new wellbeing walk from the local surgery to help support local people that wish to be active.
