Partners and Stakeholders Newsletter

April 2024

Spring has sprung and this month we’re looking ahead to what the next few months looks like for Live and Move.

We’ll always aim to keep these updates brief but if you’d like to know more, just look at our website or get in touch with us.

Local COP

Last week, we facilitated the second Local COP event of the year. We spent time with partners reviewing the draft Theory of Change document – if you were part of that discussion, or have inputted so far, we really are very grateful for your help. We also explored some of the current issues and challenges facing the sector and discussed how events such as these can help.

We are in the process of putting together a small steering group to work together to deliver these events and would love you to be part of it. If you’d like to find out more, please get in touch with Eleanor.

Cranbrook

Bitpod Film

Hot off the press this week is the brilliant EX5-Alive Impact Report. Our grants programme in Cranbrook, Move More Cranbrook, works very closely with the EX5-Alive team and it’s been wonderful to read about their impact and achievements. You can read the report on our website, here.

We are currently in the process of making a short film about our work in Cranbrook, through our grants programme, Move More Cranbrook.

We’ve already had a film shoot with some of the participants of Tiny Trails – a group that we supported in 2022 and which is going from strength to strength. Next, we’re going to film Rockbeare Rockets – a local children’s football team that we supported last year. The film will be available to watch towards the end of May and we can’t wait to see it.

In the meantime, have you seen our Inclusive Communities film? Take a look on our website, here.

Exwick Youth Club

Youth Club

Last year, we wrote about our work supporting Exwick Youth Club – a brilliant group that supports children and teens in the area. We recently caught up with youth worker Jules, who told us that the group is going from strength to strength.

She told us that the club is currently creating a consortium with two other clubs and that together they are looking to recruit a youth worker to support young people across all three groups.

Read more about this on our website here.

Local Active Lives Survey

We are shortly going to be conducting our annual Local Active Lives survey. This survey is a vital part of our work as it tells us whether the programmes that we support in Exeter and Cranbrook really are making a difference.

Our survey will go live on 6 May 2024 and is managed by our evaluation partners, SERIO together with fieldwork experts, Marketing Means. The survey is delivered in person by our team of fieldworkers, other than in Cranbrook where, because everybody in the town is eligible to take part, the survey will be delivered online.

If you’ve got any questions about the Local Active Lives survey 2024, please get in touch. You might like to look at the results of last year’s survey here. And if you’re invited to take part, please know that your input is hugely valuable to us and very much appreciated.

New Release

Beacon Centre

We’ve just come across a brilliant trailer for a film made about the Beacon Heath community – Proud to Be.

Take a look at this inspiring clip, here.

Mental Health Awareness Week

Mental Health Awareness week takes place from 13-19 May. Is your organisation planning any events during that week to support this campaign?

If so, we’d love to share them with our followers and readers. Let us know by contacting Nathan.
