Despite the interruption of Covid-19, here at the Mauchline CARS project we've been busy working on the next stage of our plans to regenerate the town's historic buildings.
And now we'd like to ask for your help. We're giving you the opportunity to give us your views and to shape the future of Mauchline with a number of community engagement initiatives.

What is Mauchline CARS?
Mauchline Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS) is a heritage - led regeneration scheme for Mauchline which will run until March 2025.
The scheme is jointly funded by Historic Environment Scotland and East Ayrshire Council to give owners of traditional property within the Mauchline Conservation Area the chance to apply for grant funding for building repairs and improvements.

Although COVID-19 has hindered progress with the scheme - which kicked off in 2019 - development is very much under way. We've spent the past two years carrying out critical preparation work behind the scenes.
Now that restrictions are easing and site visits are again possible the town will start to see some much anticipated physical activity. A number of properties have been surveyed and conservation work will start on these projects within the year.
