MOT testing: end to some COVID-19 restrictions in Wales

The Welsh government confirmed that some COVID-19 restrictions in place in Wales will end on 28 March 2022.

The Welsh government strongly advises people to continue wearing a face covering when in crowded spaces or indoors. DVSA colleagues will continue to follow the relevant rules of any site they are working in.

MOT certificates and viewing areas

The requirement to issue a paper VT20 pass certificate is optional. This was confirmed in our Special Notice 04-21.

We also advised garages to reopen their viewing areas and make sure noticeboards are displayed where they can easily be read by anyone submitting vehicles for test.

Thank you

We want to thank you for continuing to take the necessary action to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, protect our colleagues and keep the country’s vehicles safe to drive.

We know this has been a very challenging period for you and your customers.
