Council pays tribute to Mandy Pile
Members of Dover District Council paused for a minute’s silence at this evening’s full council meeting in memory of Mandy Pile who passed away unexpectedly at the weekend.
Mandy had worked for Dover District Council since 1991. As the Council’s Waste Services Manager, Mandy was a strong advocate for creating a more sustainable future, not just in the Dover district, but also in Folkestone and Hythe as she managed the two Council’s joint waste contract arrangements.
Mandy was also an influential voice in Kent and nationally through her involvement with the Kent Waste Resource Partnership and the Local Authority Recycling Advisory Committee.
Leading the tributes, the Chairman of Dover District Council, Cllr Michael Conolly, said: “Mandy will be greatly missed by all of us at DDC. She was a highly respected officer who brought great enthusiasm to the role.
“I know that Members from across the Chamber both here and in Folkestone and Hythe will recognise her contributions in helping residents and our Councils.
“Our deepest condolences go to Mandy’s family.”
