A White Cliffs Christmas

Christmas is coming and there's a whole range of reasons to visit White Cliffs Country and enjoy fun-packed events in the district.

Why not visit Dover Museum or check out gift ideas at the Museum & VIC Gift Shop. Or visit our town centres, with free parking from 19 Dec 2016 to 2 Jan 2017, (see conditions).

We've also confirmed seasonal recycling and waste collections and office opening times

Snow Wardens

With winter upon us, a new volunteer snow warden scheme has been launched by DDC in partnership with the Dover District Volunteer Centre.

The scheme aims to help everyone in our communities go about their day to day lives.

Whilst local authorities continue to work hard to keep the district moving when it snows, and KCC salts major roads across the county, volunteers are sought to help clear the footpaths around where they live.

Community Groups Awarded More Than £22k

Community groups were given a welcome boost in the run up to Christmas - with more than £22,000 funding from DDC.

The funding was awarded to 29 different community groups in the district in the latest round of the Neighbourhood  Forum Community Grants Scheme.

This followed the success of last year's round of grant funding, where successful groups included Dover Road Runners, pictured.

Stay Safe And Well This Winter

We all feel the effects of cold winter weather but it can be even more harmful for people with long-term ill-health or people over 65. The NHS Stay Well This Winter campaign gives you information on how to prepare for winter and keep common winter illnesses at bay, so that you don’t need to go to hospital.

The Community Safety Partnership is also reminding everyone to stay safe this winter - for more information, see the CSP website.
