The next step on the roadmap out of lockdown

Today we've reached the next stage of the government's roadmap out of restrictions.

That means:

  • You will be able to visit indoor entertainment venues such as cinemas and children's play areas.
  • Indoor hospitality will reopen for table service for groups of up to 6 people or two households.
  • Groups of up to 6 people or two households can meet indoors. Remember to open a window to let fresh air in.
  • Gatherings of up to 30 people outdoors will be allowed. Please remember to keep your distance.
  • You will be able to take part in indoor adult group sports and exercise classes. Where possible, keep your distance from others and remember to clean equipment after use.
  • Performances and sporting events will be able to take place in indoor venues, subject to capacity limits
  • Up to 30 people will be able to attend weddings and receptions.
  • The legal limit on the number of mourners at funerals will be lifted. Venues should set limits based on individual capacity and continue to follow COVID-Secure guidelines.
  • The rest of the accommodation sector, including hotels, hostels and B&Bs, will reopen for use. Groups of up to 6 people, or two households, can gather indoors.
  • Care home residents can leave the home to visit lower risk outdoor spaces (such as parks) and attend appointments important for their wellbeing.
  • Overnight stays with friends and family will be allowed with groups of 6 people or two households. Remember to open a window to let fresh air in.
  • Up to 10,000 people will be able to attend performances and sporting events at the largest outdoor seated venues, where crowds can be spread out.

Government Roadmap

Step 3

Making Safer Choices

Whilst we're all looking forward to welcoming back some more normality with these changes - it’s still important that we do what we can to keep our rates as low as possible.

We want to make sure Doncaster is able to move on to the final stage of the roadmap come June 21st so let's continue to make safer choices when we're out and about.

Make Safer Choices

Testing - It's more important than ever

As more and more things start to open, regular testing becomes more important than ever in our efforts to keep our Covid rates low. All residents ae able to take advantage of the free tests on offer – either through one of our community testing facilities in Hexthorpe, Stainforth and Conisbrough or by getting one of the home testing kits.

Our Local Test and Trace Team are also really important in helping keep our rates low. They work incredibly hard to provide help and support for Doncaster residents who test positive for Covid and to trace any contacts they may have had. However this only works if the team are given as much information as possible by those they contact, so if the Test and Trace team do get in touch please provide them with all the detail you can.

Restrictions changing at Household Waste Recycling Centres

Restrictions at our Household Waste Recycling Centres are changing from today to allow more visitors on site and help reduce queuing times.

Since last year the number of vehicles allowed to unload at the sites has been reduced due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Traffic management has been in place to prevent the risk of queuing traffic causing a safety issue to the roads outside the sites.

From Monday up to 30 people will be allowed at the sites at once, and visitors to the sites are encouraged to wear face coverings and maintain social distancing while unloading their waste. Traffic management will be removed and will only be brought back if safety issues arise.
