Welcome to this month's Devon Food Partnership Newsletter
We’re only halfway through July, and already we’ve seen several government announcements that are particularly relevant to us as a Food Partnership. These developments highlight the importance of staying connected and informed as we continue to build a more resilient and sustainable food system in Devon.
As always, the Devon Food Partnership is shaped by its participants and driven by the work of our dedicated working groups. While we are proudly hosted and supported by Devon County Council, the strength of our network lies in its collaborative spirit.
We’d like to share a few updates from our team: We bid a fond farewell to Charlie Molyneux and thank her for her contribution and we’re pleased to welcome Sushila Moles to the team. Harry West, who has served as the DFP Coordinator for the past three years, will continue to support the Partnership at a strategic level, with a growing focus on farming support projects, further strengthening our whole-system approach.
If you have news to share or topics you’d like us to cover in future editions, please get in touch with Sushila at sushila.moles@devon.gov.uk.

Webinar: To Ozempic & beyond: Could weight-loss jabs help or hinder sustainable dietary shift?
Thursday 24 July 09:00-10:00
Early evidence shows promising results for the ability of weight-loss jabs to reduce patients’ weight through suppressed appetite, and even decrease people’s spend on foods high in sugar, salt and fat. The implications for the UK’s ability to fight obesity and diet-related ill-health could be profound and 4 in 100 UK households now include at least GLP-1 user with this estimated to rise.
