Reminder - If you are responsible for more than one employer, when submitting your monthly data from April 2024, please ensure that you capture all your employers in one template. This should include any new starters, hour changes and CARE Pay data. If this request causes issues for you/you require more time to change your processes, please contact jane.j.aplin@devon.gov.uk.
We had hoped to include an open online session with employers in relation to the 2024 administration strategy in April, unfortunately this has not been possible. However we hope to arrange this in the near future.
We are also arranging individual employer meetings, if we have not yet contacted you and you have any concerns or wish to set up a meeting please email finance.peninsulaemployers-mailbox@devon.gov.uk.
Please be assured that our aim is always to work with you for the benefit of our scheme members. Where issues are discovered to engage with you and have a proactive discussion to move forward positively in an agreed approach.
Recently there have been some issues in relation to ill health retirements and process followed. We would therefore like to remind employers that there is information and guide to ill health retirements on our website. The Peninsula Pensions Employer & Communications team are also available to talk through the process. Check out the focus session article where you will also find an ill health session coming up soon.
We would also recommend that estimates are provided to members going through the ill health process as we are getting an increased number where members are retiring without knowing the type of benefit they will receive. Where a member has enhancement applied if they do not meet the HMRC serious ill health test they could be subject to a tax charge and this can be picked up at the estimate stage.
When a member opts out of the LGPS, please be reminded that we only need a leaver form at the end of the month, and do not need the individual opt out forms.
