Proud to Care - March Newsletter

Proud to Care Devon

March newsletter                                                     Issue 25

Introduction

Chris

The Proud to Care team has teamed up with Job Centre Plus to support people at risk of redundancy and to help them to find alternative work in the care and health sector in Devon.  People have been offered one-to-one support, help with CVs and introductions to other care and health employers.  The feedback to date has been very positive and the approach has supported staff to feel valued and confident about finding another job in the sector.  For people with the right values who are working outside care and health (e.g. in retail), this approach will also help people to consider their transferable skills and exciting opportunities in care and health across Devon.

If you are a Proud to Care Ambassador who is interested in training to support people at risk of redundancy, please contact proudtocaredevon@devon.gov.uk to register your interest.

Many thanks

Sally-Ann Turner

Communicating with confidence - public speaking workshops

Public speaking flyer

Thanks to all Ambassadors who attended the public speaking workshops in November. The workshops covered how to deal with nerves, communicating confidently with others, and telling your story to an audience. We’re really pleased that feedback was positive “Really challenging and enjoyable. Feel very proud of myself for pushing boundaries of my comfort zone” and “I already feel much more confident about putting these techniques and strategies into practice”. We hope that following the workshops Ambassadors feel more confident speaking at events and putting their learning into practice.

We have one further public speaking workshop planned for 24th March from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm at Barnstaple Library. If you would like to attend please email proudtocare@devon.gov.uk

Is there anything else that would support you in your role as an Ambassador?
