A reminder to all schools to please respond to the School Funding Consultation before tomorrow's closing date of Friday 18 October.

DAPH & DASH phase associations have worked hard over the years to provide working group representation, consultation, communication and events for the benefit of primary and secondary schools in Devon.

We've continuously challenged the inequity of funding within Devon schools by means of lobbying and organising Headteacher meetings with MP’s; looking ahead, there is still plenty of work to do and we would strongly encourage you to respond to the consultation.

By voting for the continuation of phase association funding, you will be ensuring that the voice of school leaders will be heard and schools will continue to be represented at local as well as national levels.

2020-21 School Funding Consultation

On 11 October 2019 Government released the Schools Funding indicative figures for 2020-21 and as a result further details to support the consultation.

We have provided additional information to the consultation to run alongside the document previously shared:

1) Additional Information word document for the consultation.

2) Updated the School Budget Share Comparator to reflect the increases in NFF factors.

Reminder: the consultation closes tomorrow (Friday 18 October) and each school may send in one response. If you are a Federation or MAT please identify all school numbers within your response if replying on behalf of all schools.

DfE announces funding increase for Schools

The Government has announced that the South West will get a five per cent increase in per pupil funding in the next financial year. Along with the East Midlands, that’s the highest percentage regional rise in the country and compares with London on 3.2 per cent and the North West on 4.1 per cent.

The new allocations mean just over £19 million extra for schools in Devon; £228 more for each pupil in a primary school and £184 for each secondary student. But the new figures mean Devon still lags behind the national average with every pupil worth £263 less than their counterparts throughout the country.

Devon will also get an extra £6 million next year to help vulnerable children with special needs.
