OFSTED New Inspection Framework Published
Ofsted has published the outcome of the consultation on its new education inspection framework. It will focus on curriculum, behaviour and development.
The Education Framework sets out Ofsted's inspection principles and the main judgements that inspectors make. It applies from September 2019, and can be viewed HERE
The School Inspection Handbook for maintained schools and academies in England under the education inspection framework, for use from September 2019, can be viewed HERE
The Early Years Inspection Handbook (EIF) for registered early years and childcare providers under the education inspection framework, for use from September 2019, can be viewed HERE

This report sets out the arguments and evidence for keeping Ofsted’s existing 4-point grading system.
The Timpson Review of School Exclusions Published
The Timpson review explored how headteachers use exclusion, and why pupils with particular characteristics are more likely to be excluded from school. The review gathered substantial evidence through submissions to the call for evidence and engagement with many organisations and individuals, including schools, local authorities, parents and children. The Report makes 30 recommendations. The government response sets out a programme of work to respond to the recommendations. The full report and response can be viewed HERE
