The term One Devon is commonly used by the Local Area, including schools, to summarise our approach to working together to support children regardless of who we are or what organisation we work for.

Getting to grips with Person Centred Planning

Over the last few months, Different Conversations training delivered by Tricia Nicoll took place across Devon. It ran alongside the Children in Care Wellbeing Project and focused around personalisation for young people, outcome planning, history of personal health budgets, current polices & person centred planning for children in care.

The training has received great feedback and opportunities are being explored to run it again.

The 'No Need to Exclude' Toolkit has been launched!

The 'No Need to Exclude' Toolkit has been launched to support inclusion for school leaders, staff and governing boards.

The toolkit has been developed by schools and professionals, working together to end exclusions in Devon.

There is a New Provider for Children's Community Health Services

As some of you know, an alliance of local NHS providers was successful in its bid to provide community health services for children, young people and their families across Devon.

From 1 April 2019 the new service will be known as Children and Family Health Devon. See here for more information and details of their website.

Kicks in Exeter are responding to Summer peaks in need

Data shows that demand for Early Help services peaks over the holiday periods. In Exeter, Premier League 'Kicks' a programme run by Exeter City FC Community Trust is tackling this issue by providing a range of healthy activities for boys and girls from 8 - 18 over the Summer period.

James Tisshaw (Exeter Early Help Area Manager) explains more.
