On 8 March we
held an induction event for Proud to Care Ambassadors at Bideford
Hospital. We were delighted to welcome 6 health ambassadors, bringing a
wealth of experience to complement our strong team of social care ambassadors
in North Devon. Now our team of 24 Proud to Care Ambassadors in
North Devon look forward to promoting careers in care and health at local
careers events in schools, colleges and job centres. Regional networking
and development events will be held in North Devon to support this team of
Ambassadors.
There are also
local Proud to Care champions in Newton Abbot, Exmouth, Exeter, Plymouth and Torbay. Please do
contact the Proud to Care team at ProudtoCare@devon.gov.uk if you’d like to
organise regional events or have any feedback.

It has been a busy few weeks for Proud to Care Ambassadors. South Devon has been well attended with events in Newton Abbot College and Teignmouth Community School. We were busy in North Devon talking to students at Great Torrington School during their 'Day of Difference' about career roles and Exeter provided a large scale jobs fair at the Corn Exchange and apprenticeship events at the RD&E and Exeter College.
The snow caused challenges but we have heard some heart-warming stories of people and communities pulling together to support each-other and health and care workers going above and beyond.

As always, your feedback is important to us. Please follow the relevant links to a short two minute survey if you attended any of these events:
The next networking and development event for new and existing Proud to Care Ambassadors is on Monday 30th April 9 am – 12.30 pm in Exeter. To help you learn more about individual job roles we will be holding a speed dating session: to volunteer to talk about your job please contact Tracy. Please let us know if there are any particular areas you’d like to be covered at this or future events, or if you have ideas and activities you’d like to share. Please also forward this on to your colleagues - any care and health practitioners who would like to become Proud to Care Ambassadors are also very welcome to attend. Of course, in true Proud to Care tradition, there will also be cupcakes! We look forward to seeing you there. To book a place please contact Tracy by emailing tracy.grant@devon.gov.uk .
