available. Wrap training can be adapted and not read from the script
(put it in a local context)
- Schools

The Channel Referral Process
Channel is a multi agency safeguarding process and early
intervention strategy aimed at identifying and supporting individuals
(including children) vulnerable to the recruitment of violent extremism.
It must be noted this includes all forms of extremism. It is a mechanism
for ensuring that these individuals are assessed and supported by professionals
using statutory safeguarding frameworks and multi-agency partnership working.
Below is a flowchart which illustrates how to refer a concern of this nature.

Elective Home Education
(EHE) Children/Safeguarding Concerns & Attendance Notices
Whilst the LA has no
right of entry for EHE children where there are safeguarding concerns, it is
possible to issue Attendance Notices if children are not at home during school
hours. The official statement on this has been confirmed as:-
In the absence of any
evidence that a child is receiving “an efficient full-time education suitable
to their age, aptitude and ability and to any special educational needs they
may have” in accordance with Section 7 of the Education Act 1996, a
school attendance order will be sought.
School Term Dates
It has come to light that some parents are basing holiday plans
on information available on third party websites (termdates.co.uk and
schoolholidays.co.uk) around term dates which do not necessarily correlate
to individual Devon schools. Admissions have suggested that schools may
wish to remind parents that they should always check with their own school
website rather than relying upon information supplied by third party websites.
Devon LA School term
dates also includes a term date information link for individual
schools | READ MORE
