The Devon Education Fund
The Devon Education Fund (DEF) is financed through benefits received from the Joint Venture between Devon County Council and Babcock LDP. It aims to provide £50k on an annual basis to fund ambitious and innovative ideas that will benefit learners in Devon from 0-25 years of age. It opens up opportunities for schools, organisations and educational projects to generate new ideas and approaches to improve the lives of children and young people.

Educational Psychology Service Update:
Devon Cc Commissioned service: due to the current additional statutory demand, support for educational establishments from the EPS is as follows:
- Statutory work, as directed by Devon Cc commissioners
- Planning and Review meetings-1 per year per educational establishment
- Involvement in transfers from statements to EHCPs where the CYP fits the EPS Eligibility criteria
Traded work for educational establishments:
Support from the EPS for other work required in schools, such as Early Help support, can be commissioned directly by schools/educational establishments.

EarlY Years ratios and qualified staff in school nursery provision
The statutory requirements relating to staff in nurseries in schools, and other settings, can be found in the Early Years Foundation Stage pages 23-26. The requirements differ depending on the way that the provision is run, the type of school that runs it, the age of children that are attending, and how the provision is organised.
The DCC Early Years and Childcare Service (EYCS) will be updating the (Almost) Everything Schools need to Know about Setting up Early Years Provision in Devon! over the coming weeks. The updates include guidance on staffing relating to both ratios and qualifications.
