Cyber Security Guidance
Extreme care should be exercised when receiving unsolicited emails due to the use of phishing emails by fraudsters. If an email appears suspicious it should not be replied to, or forwarded to colleagues. Any email attachments and web links should not be opened.
Fraudsters are now contacting schools by telephone prior to sending malicious emails to make them appear genuine. Ransomware Guidance is available - see more information and how Scomis can help | READ MORE

News story | Ofsted seeking views on improved approach to short inspections
The consultation seeks your views on proposals for changes to the short inspection approach for good maintained schools and academies and outstanding and good maintained nurseries, special schools and pupil referral units from October 2017.
Short inspections began in September 2015 as a proportionate approach to inspecting schools previously judged to be good. They last for one day and begin with the assumption that the school remains good.
Most schools inspected this way keep their good rating. But when the lead inspector decides there is insufficient evidence to confirm the school is still good, or thinks it may now be outstanding, they will convert the short inspection into a full inspection | READ MORE
Consultation closes 11.30pm on 18 August 2017 | Visit this link to the CONSULTATION

New Provider Agreement on Early Years Funding
This Provider Agreement replaces the Local Conditions of Funding from September 1st 2017. The Agreement sets out important information and guidance for early years providers about funding and includes the universal entitlement for 3 and 4 year olds, 2 year old funding, the extended entitlement (30 hours childcare) for 3 and 4 year olds, Early Years Pupil Premium and Disability Access Funding. Information in the Agreement should help providers when planning their delivery models.
All funded providers will be sent an email through the Provider Portal with the Provider Agreement and Provider Agreement form. Providers should read the Agreement and complete and return the Provider Agreement Form to earlyyearsentitlementfunding-mailbox@devon.gov.uk by Friday 14th July if they wish to continue to be funded from September.
There may be minor changes that are made to the draft agreement before September; these will be communicated to providers so that they can decide whether they wish to continue to be funded. We do not anticipate that there will be significant changes.
The Parent Declaration Form (see Resource Documents section)and the Disability Access Fund Declaration Form (see Identifying Eligible Children section) are both downloadable from the Early Years and Childcare Service website site so they can be individualised and used by providers to collect the information that they will need to make a funding claim. For more information visit the Early Years funding section on the EYCS website.
30 hours childcare funding (Extended Entitlement)From September working parents with a three or four year old child could be eligible for 30 hours of early learning and childcare per week in a nursery, preschool or with a childminder. Schools are to remind parents to check their eligibility and apply in good time to meet the 31 August 2017 deadline | READ MORE |
