Changes to Christmas and Birthday Allowances:

From the 5th June 2017, the allowances payable for Christmas and Birthday Allowances will change.

The new Birthday and Christmas allowances are as follows for all placement types :-

Age 17 and 18                    £100

Age 19-21                            £50

The payments are intended to cover the costs of gifts, entertainment and incidental expenses for the young person in placement.  Payments are made automatically two weeks in advance, to allow carers to buy a gift, If a child moves placement within those two weeks, either the gift or the allowance will transfer to the new placement.

Where children in placement observe a religious festival other than Christmas, the allowance will still be paid before Christmas

Recording Forms

We have recently added the P03 Incident Form and the Body Maps to the recording forms that are on the approved carer’s zone of the website. This is the location for up-to-date versions of all of our recording forms.

A Reminder

As the summer holidays are near, a reminder for anyone taking a child or young person out of the Country will need a letter of proof from the Child’s or Young Person’s Social Worker. There is a good chance airport security will stop  and check as security has become heightened.
