F40 says government has fallen short on fair funding promise

The Government’s proposals for delivering fair funding for schools need substantial revision. That’s the view of f40, the group that has campaigned for over twenty years to see changes in the way funds are allocated to schools across the country.

f40’s Executive Committee has set the tone of its response to the government’s fair funding consultation and decided that what is proposed falls short of what was expected  |  READ MORE

DAPH Representative feedback from SOCA on Admissions:

  • School website needs to be up to date and admissions information easy to find from home page as ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS rather than under policies. Each arrangement should be available – current and next year.
  • Step by step booklet and in-year booklet produced and available on on-line.  Good practice not just to have web links (template letter available from admissions)
  • Admissions Directory – this needs updating by schools (i.e. have you changed status, who is the contact – primary lead or exec head, changes to year group). Andrew Brent will send out to schools.
  • Education Infrastructure Plan now published online and schools have been informed. Includes info on growth areas. For more info see The publication of the Education Infrastructure Plan 2016-2033
  • Reminder to schools to ensure condition report is updated – either do it yourself or ask NPS or Chris Dyer’s team to update (to avoid NPS going out to look at work that has already been done).

SEND Strategy Consultation - NOW LIVE

Consultation begins on Devon’s Strategy for Children& Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

The way that education, health and social care services are delivered to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families has undergone significant change, both nationally and locally.  Since 2014, changes from central government have driven the need to re-design services and review working practices.  These changes have come at a time where increasing demand, both in numbers and complexity of need, is being placed on education, health and social care services.  To view more details and a link to the Consultation  |  READ MORE

The consultation runs from 17 January to 17 March 2017, so please make sure you respond in this time to have your views taken into account.
