Message from Philippa Court, Senior Manager, Early Help Provision

To all Secondary School Headteachers,

Early Help Colleagues at Devon County Council have been working with representatives from schools and partner agencies to streamline the Early Help Assessment and Planning tools as well as simplify the HolistiX system. The upgraded version of the system, which has been renamed ‘Right for Children’, and the Early Help tools are scheduled to go live in April 2017. The ‘Right for Children’ system includes improved functionality to manage and keep track of caseloads.

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Colleagues from schools are invited to take place in user acceptance testing of the updated system, which will be taking place from the 9th to 31st of January. The user acceptance testing will be an opportunity for colleagues to provide input into the development of the system, and suggest any final tweaks to ensure the system is fit for purpose. User testing will take place both at venues across the county (dates and venues to be confirmed) and remotely, with volunteers being provided with a link so they can access the test system at their own computers.

We would be grateful if 30 schools could put themselves forward for user testing – nominating one teacher or practitioner representative and one admin representative. Volunteers will be shortlisted to ensure a manageable number of volunteers are included in testing. A proportionate number of Primary School, Secondary School and Special School representatives will be selected for inclusion in the testing.

If you would be interested in taking part in the user testing session please could you complete T H I S  F O R M and return to vinnie.grist@devon.gov.uk no later than 9th December 2016.

Training for users of new system “Right for Children”

Ahead of full roll-out in April 2017, initial training for users on the new “Right for Children” system will take place from 20th of February onwards at venues across the County (venues and dates to be confirmed). If you and/or other staff at your school  would like to be considered for the initial training dates please could you also complete the attached form and return to vinnie.grist@devon.gov.uk no later than 31st January 2017.
