Peer Review feedback
- day 3
Yesterday's (Thursday) programme
saw the Peer Review team attending a SEND commissioning group and SEND
Improvement Board; and the team met with early years groups, Careers South
West, health focus groups, a special school and a primary school.
In yesterday's feedback, the
team said the organisation has been excellent.
The team said they found
evidence of a strong ambition and commitment to change, from the groups and
people they had spoken to. They thought that our schools, colleges and early
years settings had a strong focus on child centred planning and that they
were a valuable, but potentially untapped resource in the wider development
of practice.
The team suggested further
improvements could be made with transitions across all age ranges.
The team observed both the SEND
and Joint Commissioning Boards, and said their collaborative working was a
real step forward, and it would be important to measure the impact this is
likely to have.
Today's itinerary
This morning will be an opportunity for the Peer Review team
to feed back their observations and findings to chief officers and leaders,
before an open feedback session at 12 noon, in the Coaver Club Conference
Room at County Hall. Everyone is welcome to attend this session.
Coming up...
Next week we will be providing more detailed feedback from the
Peer Review team, and how this will inform our planning process for the
future SEND programme.
Feedback
