Two new community testing centres for people who don’t have coronavirus symptoms have opened.
The two centres – in Erewash and Derbyshire Dales – will mean there are testing centres in each district and borough across Derbyshire.
In Erewash the new centre is at West Park Leisure Centre, Wilsthorpe Road, Long Eaton.
Testing takes place from 9am to 7pm, seven days a week. However there will be no community testing available on March 4, 22 and 30 as the centre hosts regular blood donor sessions which will be going ahead as normal on these days.
The testing centre in Derbyshire Dales is in the Members’ Room at County Hall, Smedley Street, Matlock and is open from 9am to 7pm, seven days a week.
Meanwhile, testing in Heanor is moving to the Wilmot Street Centre, Wilmot Street. Testing takes place from 9am to 7pm, seven days a week.
And a new centre opening at Hillstown Village Hall, Nesbit Street, Hills Town, will offer community testing from 9am on Monday 1 March at 9am. It will open from 9am to 7pm, seven days a week.
This will replace the current sites at the Post Mill Centre and Shirebrook Village Hall which will continue to offer community testing up to 4pm on Sunday 28 February.
Around one in three people with coronavirus don’t have symptoms.
You could be passing it on and putting people at risk without knowing. That’s why your efforts to #StayHome are so important.
Let’s get through this together.
